Study of African American women reveals new genetic risk factors for lupus

Researchers at Boston University Slone Epidemiology Center have found four new genetic variants in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC), which confer an increased risk of systemic erythemathosus ( lupus ) between the African-American women. The study, published online in Human Genetics, is suspected of being the first to comprehensively assess the association between genetic variants in the MHC region and the risk of lupus among African American women. (NYSE Amex: ARM) today announced it has completed and analyzed the data security of the double-blind phase, vs. placebo-controlled clinical trials that I have evaluated the systemic administration of ARM-352. The test involved testing a single intravenous dose escalation of the drug candidate on forty healthy volunteers in Phase IA and, later, during a treatment period of fourteen days of forty volunteers in Phase IB. The test results will be published in the Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, and a clinical study report will be submitted to the FDA.
